Worried About Remaining Clearinghouse Compliant? DriverReach Has You Covered!

On January 6th, the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse rule went into effect. Under this regulation, all carriers and organizations that employ CDL drivers are required to run queries on both new and current drivers. For many, this additional step in the CDL driver recruiting and qualification process is proving to be a bit daunting. After all, this is a huge new requirement that stands to change the workflows and processes that most CDL driver recruiters have been using for decades.

At DriverReach, our mission is to help recruiters hire drivers faster and more efficiently – without sacrificing quality or compliance. Over the last few months, we’ve made understanding and preparing for the Clearinghouse a top priority across our business. The modern, flexible recruiting and compliance management solution makes it easy to comply with the Clearinghouse regulation.

In this blog post, we’ve detailed how DriverReach can help you confidently navigate the post-Clearinghouse world of CDL driver recruiting during the DOT application, pre-employment, and post-employment stages (click here to download an overview - no form-fill required):

A mobile-friendly DOT application. While most carriers are on top of new Clearinghouse regulations, many drivers are still unaware of their responsibilities when it comes to this new process. The DriverReach mobile DOT application has been updated to include an easy-to-access link for drivers to register for the Clearinghouse if they haven’t done so already.

Additionally, drivers can also securely sign a limited query consent form right from the application. As a reminder, carriers must pull limited queries on all their current drivers at least once a year, and this consent form never expires throughout a driver’s tenure with an organization.

Pre-employment queries. One of the largest concerns for many carriers is the additional delays and inefficiencies these new Clearinghouses regulations will bring to the hiring process. As a trusted leader in the CDL recruitment industry, DriverReach has built a direct integration between our platform and our integrated background screening providers, which will allow recruiters to order pre-employment full queries with just one click.

Additionally, all query results (both full and limited) can be easily attached to the DQ file, making it easy to find results when needed.

Post-employment queries. Another new responsibility of carriers under the Clearinghouse rule is to perform an Annual Review. To this end, DriverReach allows carriers to conduct these limited or full queries individually or in bulk.
